The core concept is the development of a central, intelligent inbox for law firms that seamlessly consolidates both physical and digital incoming mail. Incoming documents are automatically sorted and given standardised names. Using artificial intelligence, deadlines, appointments and tasks are precisely identified and submitted to the relevant staff for final review. This ensures that essential information is provided quickly and fully automatically, without the tool competing with existing law firm systems.

As a qualified legal assistant with several years’ professional experience, I have first-hand knowledge of the daily challenges involved in ensuring absolutely reliable deadline monitoring – particularly against the backdrop of the acute shortage of skilled workers and advancing digitalisation. The idea has matured in practice over recent years and was further developed last semester as part of the ‘Advanced’ programme at the Hochschule der Medien (HdM).

What are your biggest challenges at the moment?

The biggest challenge at the moment is to establish contact with as many law firms as possible and to secure them as pilot firms. Many law firms are very cautious when it comes to digitalisation and do not want to change their existing software infrastructure under any circumstances. Although we have designed our product precisely so that it integrates seamlessly and leaves existing systems untouched, building the necessary trust for a secure and meaningful digital transformation remains a hurdle.

What is your goal for the duration of the EXIST-Women programme?

Our goal is to make intensive use of the EXIST programme’s duration and the accompanying coaching to firmly integrate a solid base of pilot law firms into our development process. These firms will test and optimise the product and, ideally, adopt it permanently straight away. In this way, we ensure that we can already demonstrate paying and enthusiastic customers by the time we officially launch.
