The business concept describes an innovative, non-pharmacological form of treatment for dementia. This approach is designed to be implemented either before the first symptoms of the disease appear or during the early to middle stages of the condition. The aim is to support patients and their families throughout the course of the disease, to slow the progression of symptoms and to improve general well-being.

Using a personalised data collection method, information is gathered from the individual life stories of those affected. The core memories identified in this way are used in combination with a multisensory and intelligent ‘biography box’ to specifically train the cognitive abilities of dementia patients and maintain them for as long as possible. This close connection between patients and their social environment is intended to enable a longer, independent life whilst significantly reducing the burden on relatives and carers.

What are your biggest challenges at the moment?

The current challenges lie in finding suitable co-founders who both share the vision and bring the necessary complementary skills to the table. Furthermore, securing funding for the development and testing of the prototype is of crucial importance. Finally, the detailed technical development and conceptual refinement of this first prototype are on the agenda.

What is your goal for the duration of the EXIST-Women programme?

My primary goal for the duration of the EXIST-Women grant is to find suitable business partners, successfully complete the first prototype and test it in practice.
