Dr Carolyn Finck
The idea came about through personal experience: after moving house, I was looking to change careers. However, it’s not always easy to avoid getting in your own way and to find the courage to try something new. Life Design is a tried-and-tested method for this, which I have enhanced with other techniques from psychology to offer a holistic approach. The original idea was to develop an app or a web tool, thereby significantly reducing the cost of professional counselling and making the service more accessible.
What are your biggest challenges at the moment?
We are currently still in the process of thoroughly validating the idea and the underlying problem in the market – that has been our biggest challenge so far. We are also still struggling to secure funding for the technical development of the app or tool.
What is your goal for the duration of the EXIST-Women programme?
Our goal is to sufficiently validate the idea and the problem, to test our first (still analogue) prototypes on the market, and to continuously develop them further. Furthermore, I would like to use the programme to build a larger network and to inspire one another with other female founders.
