Parents want only the best for their child – and this is especially true when it comes to nutrition. However, introducing solid foods can quickly become a time-consuming and nerve-wracking part of daily life. That is exactly why we developed SMÅK: the first flexible and all-natural ready-made formula that parents can use with a completely clear conscience.

Whether it’s paediatricians, midwives, family, specialist books or the internet – there are endless, often conflicting opinions on the subject of weaning. Added to this is the guilt that plagues many parents when they need to get things done quickly and end up putting a ready-made jar on the table.

But healthy nutrition for babies can be quick and easy even without jars and without compromising. Conventional jars are always limited to a single meal – whilst this is practical, it is inflexible and expensive in the long run. Conventional baby foods, on the other hand, often contain a lot of sugar, even though they are advertised as ‘sugar-free’, as fructose can be labelled differently under the law but has the same effect. Cooking everything from scratch, on the other hand, takes an incredible amount of time in everyday life.

This is where SMÅK comes in, adapting flexibly to family life: with SMÅK, you can whip up healthy porridges, pancakes, baby falafels and even bread in just a few minutes. Parents need just a single base product and have endless possibilities – for healthy eating and more precious time with the family.

What are your biggest challenges at the moment?

At the moment, time is my biggest challenge. I’m in the final stages of my degree and, between my academic commitments and a 20-hour-a-week part-time job, I often can’t find the time or peace of mind I need to focus properly on our start-up idea. What’s more, my brother and co-founder, Nils, works full-time, which makes it even harder to coordinate and reach joint strategic decisions on a day-to-day basis.
