Cindy Kroszewski
The fashion system has become completely unbalanced. Whilst fashion lovers are increasingly losing interest in the disposable offerings of the fast-fashion industry, established chains and labels are producing ever more clothing, often of poor quality. According to estimates, around 206 billion garments are expected to be produced worldwide each year by 2030, many of which will end up unworn in the bin. While existing solutions have addressed individual symptoms of this broken system, they have so far failed to solve the structural problem.
theNEOR is taking on this challenge. We believe that the many new fashion labels founded each year have the potential to solve the system’s problems on the supply side. That is why, with theNEOR, we offer them a platform and help them, through targeted coaching, to overcome their competitive disadvantages against established rivals. At the same time, we support our customers in finding their own individual fashion style, thereby helping them to become independent of short-lived fashion trends.
What are your biggest challenges at the moment?
In order to successfully establish our fashion platform, we need financial resources to build the digital infrastructure. We are currently working intensively on concepts to demonstrate to future investors the viability and market potential of our idea (proof of concept), even though we are still in the pre-platform phase.
What is your goal for the duration of the EXIST-Women programme?
My primary goal for the duration of the EXIST-Women grant is to successfully secure initial funding or investment capital so that we can then get straight to work on the technical implementation and the operational launch.
